Description: Lorenzo Langstroth The Hive and the Honey-Bee 1857 New York. An early rare copy of Langstroth’s work. This is the most published beekeeping book in history. Early copies are becoming scarce and hard to find. This 1857 edition was printed in New York by C. M. SAXTON & CO., AGRICULTURAL BOOKSELLERS 40 FULTON STREET. 1857. This book was printed only 4 years after his first edition. This book was written by Lorenzo Langstroth as a ground breaking publication into all aspects of bees and their care. In the late 1800’s Lorenzo sold his rights to this book to Dadant and Sons who evolved it into a very different book from what it was originally.
