Description: This is "Georg Friedrich Handel" by Elbert Hubbard from the series Little Journeys to the Homes of Great Musicians, Vol. IX, September, 1901. No. 3. The Roycrofters of East Aurora, NY is the publisher; copyright is 1901. This is a soft cover booklet measuring 8 by 6 inches. There are 79 pages with a few ads at the end. The booklet cover is of a soft-finished heavier paper in medium brown with black print and border and red title and artwork. This booklet is stitched by hand with silk. There is a portrait on Japanese vellum from the original drawing made at the Roycrofters shop. This is set loose inside the book before the title page. The pages are deckled, the type includes decorative initials designed especially for this work and there is additional artwork throughout. This series presents well-told stories cast as a visit to the home of the celebrated person. This booklet is in good condition and has been stored with care in a smoke-free, pet-free home. The front cover is in good shape: the top edge is crisp, the page is free of marks or damage to surface. The long edge and bottom edge is uneven and the outer corners are a little bumped. The spine is in good condition and the silk thread binding is snug. The back cover has the same attributes as the front though there is a small stain near the lower border line. The facing sheet inside the cover has a couple of stamped items on it. Beyond this, all pages are in very good condition, the book is complete and the pages bear no markings or tears. All pages are neatly bound into places (except the portrait page which is meant to be separate).
