Description: Late 19th Century Japanese Glazed Pottery Art Sumida Gawa Type Monkey Bowl Sumida pottery was created specifically for export between the late 1800s and the 1920s. It was still produced until World War Il and briefly after the war. This colorful ware is usually heavy and covered with figures in relief. Everyday objects such as teapots, vases, and mugs were produced. This Amazing, colorful, beautiful, unusual and unique shape brown and green toned bowl with three monkeys sitting or standing around the bowl with great combination of colors. The outside of bowl is dark olive green muted shades of blue/black inside is also green glazed. Measurements are approximately:5” across2.75” deep According to age and use is in great condition and shape, may have light scratches and some chipping across top edge not very noticeable.
