During this period, Talmadge continued to hone his skills, painting every spare minute. The art finally demanded his full-time attention, and in his mid-30's, began concentrating exclusively on fine art. James Talmadge has had over 100 exhibitions since 1961 throughout the United States and the Far East. His works are in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo; The Museum of Modern Art, Osaka; and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Jamaica.
