James Michael Peterik born November 11, 1950) is an American musician and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the rock band Survivor, as vocalist and guitarist in The Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem "Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film Rocky III.Peterik has co-written songs for 38 Special ("Rockin' into the Night",, "Hold On Loosely and "Caught Up in You"), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar ("Heavy Metal"), Cathy Richardson, Dennis DeYoung, Van Zant, Brian Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and The Beach Boys. GRADING: primarily grade my records visually, based on the Goldsmith rating system of Mint, Near Mint, Very Good Plus, Very Good, Good, and Poor. Questionable marks and scratches are usually tested on a turntable and noted in the listing. VG: Light scuffs and light scratches, there will be light surface wear to the record. Expect some light surface noise in parts or a few clicks or pops here and there. VG-: The record may have some scratches that will be deep enough to feel. Audible clicks and pops may be consistently present, but no skips. G: A record that has been played and not taken care of. Constant background noise will be present. Buyer should view records with this grade as filler copies.
