Description: This sturdy cream pitcher from Hartstone Pottery out of Zanesville, OH, is handmade from pottery clay and hand painted by artists using a process that creates a slightly raised design to provide texture. A complement to a design discontinued by Hartstone, the pitcher features a leaf green trellis design. This pitcher would look great with the teapot we also have for sale featuring the "Viola" design of beautiful pansies of dark and light purple. This heavy mug is 3 inches in diameter from the outer edges, not including the handle, while the inner diameter is 2-3/8 inches at the top. The pear shape allows the cup to swell a bit larger toward the bottom. It is 4 inches tall, featuring a very ornate handle that curves at the top, with a finger notch at the bottom to help stabilize your mug. Underneath the handle, each mug displays the initials of the person who painted it. There are four cups available, all in excellent used condition, without chips, cracks, or crazing. As shown in the last picture, one cup has a slight defect in the underlying pottery clay form, which does have color and glaze over it, making it a manufacturing issue, rather than a chip after original purchase. The manufacturing mark is stamped into the bottom.
