It is from the first edition of Harper's Pictorial History of the Civil War, which was published by McDonnell Bros., Chicago, Ill., part one was published in 1866 and part II in 1868. With the first part completed in 1866, it was one of the first works to put into perspective the account of the Great Rebellion, complete with woodcut illustrations, most of which were drawn on the spot by such artists as Winslow Homer, Granville Perkins, Livingston Hopkins and others for Harper's Weekly which chronicled the Civil War on a weekly basis. A copy of the title page is included for authenticity. The print is not mounted, matted nor framed being sold as a single sheet as seen in the first pic. The Delgation from Alabama is on one side and the Delegation from South Carolina is on the other, so one would have to choose a side if framing. Overall, a very nicely preserved print that would frame up well! Size: The image area measures approximately 9 by 14 inches on a 11 by 16" page with a margin all around as seen in the pic. Condition: It is in Very Good condition for its age with overall tonal aging, basically as seen in the pics. There is some darkening around the edges, otherwise it is very clean and would frame up nicely. The pics are of the actual print.
