There is the number 5 scratched on back side of spool. This is only visible when you remove spool. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS.The reel is smooth winding and set up for left hand wind. This reel can be changed to reel right hand if desired. THIS REEL IS FROM THE LATE ED SHENK'S ESTATE. ED WAS AUTHOR OF FLY ROD TROUTING AND INVENTOR OF SEVERAL VERY EFFECTIVE FLY PATTERNS.
