This set really is the " Exclamation Point " ( ! ) if I may on the 1979 to 1990 " Brent-Era " Grateful Dead. And, in the past - when Folks ask me what it is & ' why ' I prefer '80's G.D .... my answers are usually something like the following, in any order really - depending on the mood I'm in ! One reason ... Song-Selection ! - another ... It's the best ' Band ' Ever ! - another ... This unit played 11-Years ! together !! - another ... This is Rock & Roll !!! - another ... ' Double-Drummers ' for 11-Years straight ! - another ... Boss-Roland Equipment ! - another ... with Heavy-distortion used Properly ! - another ... So-many Massive-' Stadium Shows ' made the Boys Push ! - another ... the more-significant Dylan influence ! - another ... the ' Pre-Midi ' Era - with Tone straight ! through the Cones ( for, at least ' most ' of the '80's - Pre-Spring Tour '88 ) - another ... the Heavy-presence of the Phil Zone - another ... Bobby Weir !!!!! ( Hah ! ) - another ... Brent !! - another ... Garcia !!! - and his Mean !! Tone !!!!! See what I mean ? I could keep goin' on & on & on ... but, you get the drift.
