I don't know how else to say it other then that " Buffalo " became - and now will-forever-be ... a Dead Fan " Keyword " in the Deadhead World !! I mean the Band just Delivered ! in This-City !! ... Crushed-It !!! ... '90, '89, '86 - heck this tradition goes back to even '77 and '73 ! It must be a " New York " thing ... or, maybe an " Upstate ! " thing - Ha ! It may even be safe to say that '86 & '89 Buffalo were the Best Shows ! of those two Summer Tours !!? I do believe I-think-so ? - or, at least darn close to it ! Sure ... JFK '89 ( Blow Away ! ) - RFK '89 ( 7/13 Garcia ! ) - Foxboro '89 ( Ace " Double-Barettes ! " - just kidding - ' Hah ! ' ) - and of course ... the Legendary '89 " Alpine 3 !!! " - these All ! poke into that claim a bit. But, as-for '86 ?? ... maybe " hands-down ?!? ". And heck - this '90 Buffalo ! night almost stole the '90 Tour too - if it wasn't for the " Massive-Deliveries " at both Three Rivers ( in the Heat ! ) - and RFK ( in the Rain ! ) - so if you also account for the " Show-Weather " conditions too ?... then this Buffalo '90 Show might also win ?? - Ha ! But ... there is no " Capturing The Flag " here ( on weather alone ) - as Garcia ! did indeed co-plant his " Summer '90 Dead Flag ! " right in the middle of both the RFK & Three Rivers Stadiums - no doubt ( well, you know ... right on Stage-Left ! - Ha !! ). And hey - as we all also well know - '77 Buffalo pokes right-at that ' top-echelon ' of May 1977 - which isn't too easy either !! But, still no need to take on the almost self-proclaimed " Ithaca-Giant " right here & right now- right ? ;-) I'll say one-thing about this 7/16/90 Buffalo Show though - and it's one that I can never & will never ever-forget ... during the Sugar > Scarlet !! - in the midst of Scarlet, actually ... Garcia picks through a speedy-fast fret board rally - and he hits it with Jaw-Dropping Precision ! - literally Right-On-A-Dime ! - a " True-Moment !! " of G.D. Live-Dead-Magic !!! I mean ... Wow !!!!! And outside of a bit of a Let It Grow ' train-wreck ' ( hee ! ) this Show sure was just-about Perfect ! " 1990 Summer Dead !! ". That's what this Beautiful !
