Description: Maker: It's indisputable: Limoges says quality. And T&V - Tressemann and Vogt - produced some of the world's finest and most beautiful Limoges porcelain. Marks and age: This elegant serving bowl has two marks: the green underglaze "Limoges France" white mark number 6, which came into use in 1891, and the T&V magenta bell decorator's mark number 16 that was in use between 1907 and 1919. Source: The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, third edition. The magenta mark confirms that the bowl was produced for the New York department store Sterns. Design: The pattern - which replacements.com calls TRV284 - features a band of alternating panels of blue and cream accented with clusters of delicate pink and yellow flowers inside a thin geometric band of black and yellow. Condition: The bowl is in overall excellent condition with no marks, nicks, chips, cracks, stains, discoloration, crazing or repairs. There is wear to the edge - it's shown in the photo with the red arrow. Size: The bowl is 9 1/2 inches wide, 2 1/2 inches tall and weighs 1 pound 1 ounce. Please check all the photos very carefully – they are an important part of the description.
