Description: Hi Folks, this is a Golf Shaft Spine Finder that uses the Bearing Method with a pvc casing. Tool has an opening size of .625" so the butt end of the shaft should be a maximum of .610". Larger shaft butt diameters wont fit and therefore will yield inaccurate spine finds. Pictures show how to use. You can find the stiffest and softest part of the shaft to approximately find the spine in a golf shaft. This has helped me consistently align shafts in irons. You will also be able to detect subtle spines in graphite shafts. Casing and third bearing for pulling down is included. you have everything you need besides a vise and a shaft. Simply place the spine finder PVC Shell in a vise. Slide the butt end of a shaft in and let the shaft come out of the back side of the shaft about 2". PLace the loose bearing approximately 2" from the tip of the shaft and pull shaft tip down. The shaft should automatically rotate and fix in a spot of least resistance. The Spine would be the spot that has the most resistance. You can align the spine in various ways based on opinion: Spine Up - eliminate shaft droop. Many OEMs who spine align, do it spine up. Spine to Target - Some say this reduces dispersionSpine away from target - Some say this makes ball launch higher (since the soft part of the shaft is kicking towards the target) All these positions are based on opinions of other builders, and all settings have acquired success with customers. I personally prefer Spine down in my own irons. In the end, having your shaft spines aligned all the same way will improve consistancy Thanks!
