Description: Vintage 1950's Service Station Ledger for display. Also comes with a new ice scraper that was given to customers as advertising. I have several of these scrapers and thought one would go nicely with the ledger. Dimensions are 12" by 9". Roughly one fourth of the ledger was used, ten months or so in 1961. Very clean with tight binding. No missing pages and the entries are very legible, displaying beautiful cursive penmanship. I would imagine finding someone to write this pretty would be difficult to do today. Nice bright cover as shown in the photos. Was salvaged from a garage owned by the operator of an 500 Platolene station in Plainville, Indiana prior to demolition. Quite interesting to browse. Includes employee data, daily sales of 'Regular' and 'Ethyl', prices of purchased and sold goods, tire repair, maintenance items and the mainstay of all old gas stations, soda pop sales. Meticulously maintained, to the penny, by the station operator's wife. Displays very well and always promotes excited and meaningful conversation from both young and old. This would be a great addition to any service station memorabilia collection. All purchases are much appreciated and thanks for looking.
