Description: This vintage real photo postcard features a battle uniformed European soldier wearing full gear. Note his rifle, backpack, ammunition pouches and sword. His helmet is also of interest. I believe it is an Adrian helmet which was the first standard helmet used by the French Army during World War I. It's designer was Intendant-General Agust-Louis Adrian, who modeled the helmet after the design of helmets worn by Parisian firefighters. The Adrian helmet was issued to French troops from World War I until the 1930's. This postcard is in good condition (see scans).
