It has bellied body with banded collar and repousse decorations around the bottom part. Applied foot features foliate pattern, scroll flat handle - applied acanthus leaves. Interior is gilt. On the front of the body, there is an engraved inscription "Caroline Rosalie Taveau". Cup has full set of hallmarks, maker's mark is partially rubbed. This splendid cup is 4 1/8" across the handle, 3 3/4" tall and weighs 165.3 grams or 5.3 ozs Troy. The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing. The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
