Description: Late 18th century treen staybusk, chip carved probably by a sailor judging by the illustration of a big fish and an indigenous hut and palm trees, initialled ‘M’ and ‘D’, probably representing the names of the sailor and his beloved and dated 1798. There is a heart at the top surmounted by a figure flanked by two smaller figures, perhaps representing two children.
