Description: This listing is for a rare production copy of a photograph album that wasn't completed by photographer Elihu Blotnick. Elihu worked for Rolling Stones and was good friends with Tom Pope, as well as R. Crumb and many of the psychedelic comic artists of this time. He took a series of various photos from multiple different protests and was making a compilation book. I don't believe this project was ever completed, but if you know any additional information I would love to hear it. There are around 32 cardboard cut outs with photographs placed on both. The last page was numbered 31, but there was a 32nd page with photographs. I acquired this in a storage locker auction of a room owned by Tom Pope. There is a small note and a photocopied letter of a newspaper article that Elihu wrote to Tom Pope. The note talks about how this was meant to be a "spring board" for a future project and is outlined in a potential way for the book. There are approximately 64 black and white photographs in the book (there was only one spot in the book where a photograph belongs that it is missing). They feature a wide range of protests imagery from hippie culture to grim images of violence. There seems to be a wide range of protests, but I am unsure. Just based on the signs it seems like they were multiple events. It is a truly beautiful look into a very critical point in American political history. Please see all photos for condition and feel free to ask any questions. ***Sales tax of 7.75% is added to all California transactions.
