Over the years the plastic of the original tool which came with the gun has deteriorated and in most cases the steel insert will spin when you need it least of all. We have the tool available in steel with a Polymer pilot to go inside the barrel.Polymer was chosen for the pilot because Steel or even Aluminum could damage your barrel, Steel simply because of its hardness and Aluminum because of the oxide layer it builds on the surface over time when exposed to moisture, a Polymer pilot will not damage your barrel today or in another 125 years for that matter.
