This Cryptanthus is most commonly known as Earth Star. I have heard many people call this Pheasant Tail, as it truly does resemble this bird's tail! It rapidly forms clusters of small, upright growths with wavy brown/burgundy/purple and silver leaves, and tends to get quite large for a Cryptanthus. This plant typically attains sizes of between 10" – 15" across. Keep them medium moist at all times. Cryptanthus suffer if they dry out for extended periods. This is really a cool looking plant, especially in groups. What is interesting about this one, depending on the sun conditions and how they are grouped, they can grow upright & tall or flat & wide. One more thing I have noticed is that when they are wet, their silver stripes disappear, but when the dry out, the stripes reappear! This auction is for a single plant pup, smaller than the plants shown in the photos, but similar to each plant in the last 2 photos. Plants will grow to to around size seen in the rest of the photos. Plants will be shipped bare root or no root, without soil. Yes I do discount for combined shipping!
