Description: Shown here are five Civil War carbine bullets dug in 1974 near Falling Waters Md. off route 81 on private property with the owner's permission. This area was heavily fought over during Lee's retreat from Gettysburg. Union Calvary skirmished with Confederates during Lee's crossing of the Potomac into Virginia in July 1863 after the battle of Gettysburg. The bullets shown here include dropped 52 Cal. Sharps carbine and Burnside carbine bullets. The cartridge casings paper and brass are long gone.
