Description: A heavy and well-cast Chinese bronze of the hunting and fishing God, Fuxi resting on a lotus plinth and holding a fish. The bronze dates from either the late Ming or early Qing Period. The figure has a dark aged brown patina. The base is concave underneath and shows irregularities from grit. The details on the figure are very good. The hairs on the beard, the design on the robe hem, and the facial features show how good the casting is. There are no marks or labels. MEASUREMENTS 6 7/8” (17.5 cm) tall x 2 5/8” (6.7 cm) wide x 2 ¼” (5.7 cm) deep. Weighs 2 lbs 8.1 oz (1140 g) CONDITION There are no breaks, cracks, dents or repairs.
