Description: For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has an exceptionally rare and cool Chase-Durer Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chronograph in the black stainless steel case and bracelet. This is a feature and complication rich fine timepiece which is similar to the one that is in the TV show Burn Notice. This one, a larger and more modern reference, makes an impressive, masculine statement on the wrist. And of course that one on Burn Notice had a red and yellow lower register for chronograph timing while this IDF version has a blue and white lower register. My research suggests that this is the rarest and most valued Chase-Durer timepiece ever made. I heard that only 200 or so were made and I have no idea how many found their way to IDF Shayetet 13 personnel. Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity. We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces. If you have questions regarding the specifications, provenance, history, etc., no problem. Just ask if you have a question! We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular. We always have the inventory in our possession. We do not do the broker thing. The condition of this watch is as follows: Outstanding condition as evidenced in the photos. I believe this is a New Old Stock item and I have no idea why it was not ultimately commissioned to a soldier or whatever. This fine timepiece came to me wrapped in the plastic wrap and took some careful effort to unwrap from its new condition so my wife could shoot the pictures. We decided to keep it in the wrapping though I personally carefully cut the wrapping so I could set the watch and do my quality control check. Let the pictures be your definitive source of the condition and what is included in the listing. As always, ask for additional details or pictures before placing a bid or purchasing. We are always pleased to help prospective buyers make fully informed decisions. FYI, my quality control check for a quartz watch like this involves setting the watch, checking the timekeeping accuracy (to + / - 10 seconds a day), activating the chronograph a few times (start/stop/reset), and ensuring the day and date change over in the early morning hours as it should. Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include: 1. This watch is large at approximately 44mm (inclusive of crown) and works well on a medium or larger wrist. I can recommend this watch for somebody with a wrist size of 15cm in circumference and larger. I have an average size wrist and this watch looks great on my wrist. It definitely makes a statement and is classically oversized. In the mission teutonic and high-readiblity color and dial set-up, the watch wears true to form and slightly smaller for an approximately 44mm timepiece as all black watches tend to do. This reference is substantially bigger than the original reference used in the Burn Notice TV show in part to allow for easier reading of the many complications.2. This is an understated but clearly mission-driven chronograph --- it is an impressive, bold statement while not being "flashy" or gaudy. Quite the opposite actually. The dial, bezel and sapphire crystal interplay makes this watch as it beautiful, in a sort of stealth mission-driven kind of way. The caseback displays the impressive specifications (such as 330ft water resistance) makes no apologies for its stealthy design and tool watch intentions. 3. The second hand (in the white & blue subregister) provides a visual eye-candy. The chonograph provides additional timing precision when needed. The high quality, well anchored, black bracelet really holds the timepiece to the wrist very well. 4. Saphire crystal over the stark black dial adds to the strong and impressive build quality. Anti-reflective treatment on the expensive crystal keeps the stealth and matte functionality design ethos in tact. 5. This is a chronograph watch that will last decades. I cannot overstate how substantial and well-made this watch feels in person. From the compass/count-up bezel to the bracelet to the high-visibility functionality, this one is made for military duty. 6. The date window at approximately 4 o'clock provides additional functionality and are relatively easy to read despite the busy military dial. 7. This watch is aimed for a military or pilot type of individual --- somebody who is not afraid to get their hands dirty but still wants something unique, bold and very high-quality without paying for a bunch of magazine advertisement hype. Personally, this is my kind of timepiece in terms of value and design. 8. The I.D.F. badge at 12 o'clock and the dial "Israeli Defense Forces" writing underpins the military heritage and collectibility. 9. A bundle of collateral complete the listing and have some minor wear signs of storage, transit or whatever. There is a lot of collateral. For starters, there are two Israeli flag patches that can be swapped out and one of them is, I think, quite reflective. There are two small lights --- one red, one blue --- which I think are used for different applications (e.g., one is more stealth for map reading and the other one is a more normal light). There is an additional watch strap in rubber. There is a serrated diver knife and sheath as well. In the zippered bag is a rubber strap for the knife, extra blank adhesive for the patches (so they can go on something else I guess) and the instruction manual (that also has a Prayer for Soldiers) in it. Lastly, there is a mahogony wood box (kind of worn or showing some age), the pelican case and a camoflage tactical mini backpack to hold the pelican case, knife strap and whatever else an I.D.F. Shayetet 13 might want to take. Shayetet 13 is similar to USA Navy Seals and the UK's Special Boat Service forces based on my research. We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation. We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue. 100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way. Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get. The only exceptions are the black case that we photograph on top of to prevent scratching and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great. The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond. And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some. Thank you for your consideration, Dr4
