Description: All original Clown with Crooked Hat cast iron toy still bank. The bank has outstanding casting details & a lovely deep rich dark patina. There are no cracks, no chips to the iron, & no repairs. We believe that the bank dates circa 1905 or so & was made by the Ober Mfg. Company which was located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. The bank measures 6 3/4 inches tall by 2 1/4 inches across his stomach & has a weight of 13.4 ounces. A very appealing & scarce bank. The example we are offering has some paint wear. But, a considerable amount of the original paint is present under the dark patina. The bank would probably clean up to show far more paint than currently showing in our pics. However we have chosen NOT to clean the bank as, in our opinion, the bank has the most pleasing patina we have ever seen on an example of this scarce bank. So, we have chosen to offer this bank just as it was found fresh out of a Lancaster County, Pa. estate.
