Description: In 1977 I contacted Burne Hogarth about commissioning a Portfolio of new art based on the King Arthur legend. Burne was enthusiastic about the idea and several years later the two volume signed and numbered Portfolio was released. During periodic visits to Burne's Pleasantville, NY home and studio I was privileged to see the various stages of the Portfolio art. I was absolutely stunned by the detail and beauty and size of the penciled original art and asked Burne if I could shoot the pencils before he began inking them. I ended up including a penciled Plate in the Portfolios as well as releasing this set of two of my favorite works; THE SEDUCTION OF THE QUEEN and THE FINAL BATTLE. I printed these on special Strathmore archival heavy papers with special high resolution lithography so every nuance of the art would be captured. These two Prints are the result. Burne hand signed and numbered all the 150 Prints in the lower right corner in pencil and they were collated into matching sets...each Print is in the matching number set of two. Image size is approximately 16"by 20" plus borders...roughly 20"x25" paper size. Please excuse the poor photos but my scanner isn't big enough by half to capture these images. This auction is for a matched number set of two hand signed and numbered prints. Shipped in a study mailing tube.
