Description: Antique Birks Sterling Silver & Blue Enamel Brooch Pin in Original Blue Box, Art Nouveau 1900-1909 Details: Very fine undamaged antique Birks solid sterling silver & blue enamel brooch with nice natural patina. Comes with original iconic Birks blue dome presentation case. Made by Henry Birks & Co. of Canada, a well-known maker of fine jewelry, this art nouveau brooch features a round openwork medallion with beaded edging centered on a bar with a heart at each end. Intricately decorated letters are surrounded by a band of deep blue enamel decorated with 12 silver stars. The pattern may be an insignia. Hinged stick pin with closure loop works properly. Clearly marked "BIRKS STERLING". Estate piece retains its original patina, it could be polished to a full shine by the new owner if desired. Jewelry case & interior cushion are covered in a blue velvet-like fabric. Lid interior is covered in a white silky fabric, decorated with "BIRKS" & the Birks rampant lion and double B logo. Box lid retains its original tension. The interior of presentation box does have a faint odor, typical for its age.
