Description: DETAILS: Clean one owner collection of 30 Fond Memories: Official Bettie Page Newsletter. Bob Schultz (ed.) Circa 1990. Also included are the special issues published by the newsletter (Elegantly Bound). This is the only fanzine that we are aware of that was published with the active assistance of Page and James Swanson (her agent). Every issue has been individually inspected and found to be in Near Mint / Like New condition. We have provided numerous photos so buyers can appreciate the high grade condition of this lot. The issues that could not be shown due to restrictions are all in the same condition. Please see item description and photos for further details.PUBLICATION BACKGROUND: Fond Memories debuted 1991 as a privately printed fanzine newsletter for Bettie Page's most dedicated collectors. All early issues (those prior to letter "L") had press runs of only a few hundred copies and were individually notarized for authenticity. All issues are at least 16 pages in length and contain reprints of classic Bettie Page Magazine covers and pictorials, letters from fans and collectors, original art and a wealth of information about Bettie as well as other pin-up / glamour art and models. Issue "L" was the first to be printed for mass distribution. All issues were lettered instead of numbered. Each issue featured appearances by Bettie in magazines who's title began with the same letter as the issue letter. However, when the end of the alphabet was reached, there were 27 issues (26 alphabet letters plus the Summer '92 issue), and a switch was made to numbered vs. lettered issues. Only one issue was published under that format and that was issue # 28. All issues through "P" are full-size 8 1/2" x 11", whereas issues from "Q" through #28 and EB #3 are 5 1/2" x 8" digest size.
