Description: BASS HUMBUG Patterned after the bluegill fly, this is a big upgrade targeting bass. Tied on a Saber Bass Bug hooks size 6 (but really more like a 4) Model #7060 wide gap hook. Saber hooks are chemically sharpened and lightly barbed.This is an unweighted fly, but due to water absorption of the plush chenille, it sinks slightly faster than a suspended fly. It works great with a floating fly line and fished within the 6" to 2 feet below the water surface.The chenille releases some water on a false cast, but still remains a heavier fly. You will need an 8wt fly rod with a bullet or shooting dry fly line to fish it. The fly is light enough that you can target fairly well with it.I like to fish it near overhanging trees or brush as it makes a characteristic "plop" when entering the water.The white silicon legs give this fly pulsing movement.Includes a mono weed guard.
