Description: Atlas / Craftsman 10" & 12" Spindle Lock Wedge Block. OVER 300 Quality Devices SOLD!!!! Quality 3D printed Wedge Block used to remove stuck or tight chucks from these old lathes. The block works by grabbing 13 teeth (more teeth is better) and spreading the torque load out among those teeth to NOT damage a tooth when removing a chuck. These also work great to install your chucks without risking damage by engaging your backgear or spindle lock pin. This part has dense infill unlike some other items on ebay and will last quite a while if not abused. Don't buy ones that look too thin or have less infill density to hold up to the forces required to break a stuck chuck free. SIZE REALLY DOES MATTER.....(even if it's square corners)!!!! The more teeth it has and the better the fit means it cannot just be slapped on the gear and work well. A precision fit mates with the gears and needs slipped in from the side to properly mesh the teeth. If it fits easy, then ITS TOO LOOSE and could damage your lathe!!! Compare my item with similar items for sale online to see the difference clearly. Also note that some cheaper versions online use light infill to save cost, but I use a dense infill for strength.
