Underneath the butterscotch Bakelite lid is a place for cigarettes and matches or beloved trinkets. The piece measures 8 1/2” wide x 5 1/4” deep x 4+” tall. Its winding mechanism is still functioning and it plays a lovely tune – see video provided. Music Plays when lid is open. I am not a musical expert, so don't know the song title andcannot judge playing quality, if it is in tune, etc. Original Keyboard Intact. Ornate Cast Metal Gold Body, Hinges, Legs, and Decorative Piece on Top of Lid. Very Nice/Beautiful Antique/Vintage Condition.Minor signs of wear commensurate with age, including tiny spots of gold loss on the metal and patina on the bakelite (see inner lid for color change).
