Tomesode is the most formal, high class Kimono for all ceremonies and occasions. Black ones are worn by married women. They usually have family crests. (Family crests are emblems that have been passed down from generation to generation in Japanese families from their ancestors and are a representative symbol of the family.) Please keep in mind that female Kimonos are supposed to fit longer and adjustment may be needed to fit to your size by tying belt (Obi belt). Due to the nature of being a vintage textile product, the item might come with partial wrinkles, fold lines, stains, and slight odor. The slight odor is tend to be caused from Japanese storing and preservation means of silk wardrobe products and is not related to aging or molding. To remove the smell, hanging Kimono indoor at a well ventilated place, avoiding sunlight is recommended.
