Description: Item up for sale is an absolutely incredible U.S. Navy Standard marked ship's cook / chef galley kitchen knife made by the Lamson & Goodnow Manufacturing Company. Knife blade bears a light mark on the blade surface which shows wear from age and use. We believe this knife to date as early as the Spanish American War era and as late as the early WW1 era. Blade shows tarnish, soiling, surface wear / pitting and patina consistent with age and use along with surface wear consistent with use, Blade shows no chips, cracks or breaks in the metal. Blade base shows some residue around where the bolster meets the blade. Wooden handle shows light wood wear around wood edges with surface showing patina consistent with age and use. Blade measures 14" in length by 2-1/2" wide. Handle (including bolster) measures 5-1/8" in length by 1-3/8" wide across the widest point. Entire piece measures 19-1/8" in length.
