Description: This is an old Reed Mfg No. 104 Bench Vise with the common 3-bolt base. This vise has 4” wide jaws and weighs approximately 42 lbs. The vise appears to have a legible date stamp on the body reading 318 as in 3-1918. That would make this vise one of Reeds earliest produced bench vises as they got started producing bench vises in the early 1900s. Reed vises are highly sought after due to them having arguably the best quality and strongest castings out of any vises made. These are becoming harder to find since there aren’t many made today with similar quality. This particular vise shows its wear with dings and dents but is in fairly decent shape considering it might be over 100 years old. It has been stripped, cleaned and oiled and no cracks or breaks were noticed. The vise has been shelved in a dehumidified room so it will need to be oiled/greased before it’s used again. This would be a great addition to any work bench and would easily provide many more years of service. Thank you for viewing and don’t hesitate to message me with any questions about the vise. Will ship to the lower 48 and Canada.
