The manufacturer, Peter G Thomson of Cincinnati, Ohio was a publisher of books, valentines, card games and puzzles during the late Victorian era. The company was purchased by McLoughlin Brothers around 1890.This was a very popular game back in the era when people read a lot of classic works. Comes with 60 cards featuring various popular authors of the era ; Cards are gently used.This will appeal to a toy collector, book lover or anyone who enjoys vintage! Includes the directions for play. The cards are worn from normal play, but no major damage. I have not cleaned this item aside from a light dust off. Light soiling, dust, old age toning, dents, paint loss could be present along with other minor wear consistent with age.
