Description: Large Scalloped edge bowl, probably celadon clay, probably Chinese but could be of Korean origin, owner is experienced in many types of porcelains and antiques but has never found an oriental porcelain expert to clearly identify this bowl. A lovely and graceful piece, a simple and handsome bowl. Size 16" x 5.5", purchased from reliable direct importer many years ago, hand thrown as evidenced by slight irregularity in its un-level top edge, estimated to be at least 200 years old with worn very old art inside, clouds and palms and pond lilies, along with wax export stamp, no stamp or date on bowl. Bowl comes with beautiful carved rosewood base 14.5" x 2.5", the densely grained rosewood weighs 2.3 lbs, the bowl weighs 10 lbs.
