Description: This 1918 JEMCO Art Nouveau leather Hand Tooled purse is in really good condition considering that it is over 100 years old. It shows the patina of time and wear but is still very functional. The leather handle has separated and could be easily re-sewn by a person who works wit leather. The body of the purse is excellent as is the interior. The 2 interior pockets are intact, however one is separated at the top left side. . Some of the stitching on the outside of the purse is beginning to wear out, and again, a person who works with leather could re-sew those affected stitches. With a little work, you would have an amazing quality brand purse from 1918. I had no problem uncovering the patent date and JEMCO brand logo with a little silver polish. I believe that this patented locking purse frame is probably silver plate, but I couldn’t find a silver hallmark. I did not clean the entire frame for fear of leaving silver polish on the leather. I believe the frame could be polished, however. This purse will be shipped with USPS
