Description: Antique Gillinder Frosted Glass Compote Statuette "Rustic Bowl" Boy - 1881 EAPG We also have the matching Girl figure compote here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/204894652390 A very striking example of early American pressed glass. According to web references this large, open compote is shown in a Gillinder catalog of 1881-1889. It has the pattern name "Rustic Bowl" and there is one version with a boy and one with a girl. The child has a hen next to them with detail so fine that the claw feet can be seen. The large bowl is clear glass with the rest frosted. Ignore all strange angles in the photos (phone cameral lens limits) and color accents as they are just reflections. It looks perfect. We find no damage at all. We don't even see any straw marks. There is a small internal bubble in the glass in the rear of the base (see the last pictures) which is typical of such old glass and not a defect. Height 8-1/2"; top diam 8-1/2"; bottom diam 5-1/4" We can't combine shipping on this as it's too large and fragile.
