Description: Well painted cake stand from Bareuther Porzellan, Germany. Hallmarked in green on the base, indicating brand and fact it was made in the "U.S. Zone" of Waldassen, Bavaria, Germany. These marks were used post-WW2 from 1945 to 1949. Hand-painted surface features blackberry fruit and flowers, with an olive green rim. It is possible this is an amateur-painted piece which was purchased as "white ware". Bareuther was almost completely demolished during the WWII. They hired many employees from Porzellanfabrik Königszelt A.G., who were forced to leave Silesia when the region was annexed into Poland. In 1949 the factory was fully operational.Condition: Excellent giftable condition. No visible crazing or discoloration. Paint and glaze intact with good color and without scratches or erosion. No chips, flakes, breaks, mends, repairs, cracks, hairlines, blemishes, or mentionable boo-boo's. Don't feel anything amiss when I run finger around edges.
