Description: Antique ART NOUVEAU BRASS/BRONZE PICTURE FRAME w/GRIFFINS-Baby Photo-5.5" x 7.25" UNKNOWN MAKER This antique Art Nouveau/Steampunk picture frame is a stunning addition to any collection. With intricate griffins and scrolls, it is a true masterpiece. The frame is made of brass or bronze and has a beautiful gold color with an original patina. Measuring 5.5 inches in width and 7.25 inches in height, it is suitable for a photo size of 4 x 6 inches. There is a mark on the back of the frame that seems to read in part, "...SEP 14...." Not a makers mark but possibly a patent date? Please see pictures. The frame has easy installation -- simply pull down the top edge on the back of the frame, insert your photo, and close the "flap." There is also an easel on back for table top display. The cardboard backing attached to the easel has some damage at the top. The top right corner of the brass/bronze frame has been bent back. Please see pictures. It is a guaranteed antique piece and perfect for collectors of unusual antique frames. Very good pre-owned condition.
