Description: Vintage HUNTER'S SIFTER by FRED J MEYERS MFG CO Light Usage. Very large antique flour sifter with aged patina, tarnish and even some rust - I do not know the exact date of this piece, but it is quite old - I was able to find a dated salesman sample of this exact model and the date on that piece was 1874. So, would assume this piece is approximately the same age, although maybe a bit later. This piece also does not have the additional embossed information of the location of Fred J. Meyers Mfg. Sifters dating approx 1911 that adds the Hamilton Ohio information. Rather a large primitive looking antique kitchen utensil Embossed on the front of the tin piece is: HUNTER’S SIFTER THE STANDARD OF THE WORLD FRED J MEYERS MFG CO Large side handle with a turned wooden handle nob painted black Interior sifting mechanism – concentric metal circles making a turning orb Size: Approx. height at the front is 6 3/8ths inches The height tapers a bit towards the back so that is a bit shorter at approx. 5 1/8 th inches Approx width of the piece from the side – extending to the end of the nob – 11 ½ inches Approx width of the piece just by looking at the front – 6 inches Diameter at the base – approx. 5 inches Condition: This is still a great antique kitchen item but it does show wear as stated – aged patina, tarnish and even some rust .
