Description: This stunning Prayer rug makes it's way from Yahyali in Cappadocia. Prayer rugs were often unique to the villages in which they were made. Individual patterns and motifs were created by the weavers and contained designs related to the tribe. This particular beauty features an inscription of the name of the Anatolian weaver who created this one, Omar K. It features a beautiful cherry red Mihrab with intricate detailing. Three borders compliment the Mihrab with bold colors. This rug features an extremely dense, tightly woven wool pile that is great for high traffic areas, or on the wall as a collection piece. Natural dyes and colors include: Cherry red, indigo, mustard yellow, gold yellow, and more. This hand made rug is made of non-shedding hand spun wool making it easy to clean, and making it incredibly soft to walk and lounge on. This densely woven wool rug contains natural oils called lanolin that naturally resist dirt and grime, therefore allowing it to look cleaner for much longer than synthetic rugs. Regular vacuuming will remove any dirt and grime, and allow you to enjoy your rug for many decades.
