Description: For sale is a vintage antique mourning memorial funeral lithograph print. Featuring a mourning dove over a funeral wreath headstone. The text says "In Memory of Martha C. Ackerman, Died Nov. 24, 1887; Aged 9 Years, 2 Months, 11 Days" with also a little poem underneath. Published by B. D. Hayes & Co. of New Lyme, Ohio. Comes inside an ornate (oak?) wood & gesso frame. The print measures 14x26 inches. The frame measures 20x32 inches. Comes with the original wavy glass pane and wood backing. Under the backing I found an old newspaper dated 1889 which has some interesting advertising and articles, including one mentioning the first use of Edison's electric chair for execution. Pre-owned condition. Shows some signs of wear from age and use. The print itself is in good condition with just some minor waves in the paper. May be discolored, although it might also be how it originally looked. The only two other examples I've seen of this print has the same color. No tears or stains or creases. The frame has some scuffs and scratches in the wood. Some of the gesso designs have some little cracks. It once had a red velvet inner section, but that velvet has worn almost completely off. The glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. Please see photos for more details. Photos are part of the description.
