Fly-Fight-Win2012-2018?Challenge Coin We have word there is another version, which started being handed out possibly starting in 2018?This is the coin, which is awarded to each Airman upon successful completion of basic training therefore earning the right to be called, "Airman."On the front it has the year the Air Force became a separate branch of the military, established 1947. In the center is the traditional AF logo wings (Gen Hap Arnold wings), and the Air Force core values: Integrity First, Excellence In All We Do, and Service Before Self written on the outer edge. On the flip side, it has motto's Aim-High, Fly-Fight-Win. On the edge it reads, "AWARDED ON THE OCCASION OF BECOMING AN AIRMAN." and "IN THE WORLD'S GREATEST AIR FORCE". In the center is has the modern Air Force wings. The coin is 1 5/8 inches in diameter with epoxy over the wings/center of both sides. The same contractor made Versions 1 - 3 for the US Air Force. This coin is Version 3, circa 2012-2018? The Airman coin changed sometime in 2018, and a new contractor made the 2018 coin. NOTE: There are a few different versions of Airman coins that have been handed out over the years since the 1999.
