This guide sign is posted these days in Adrian, TX - technically not on the National Old Trails Road (which joins US-66 only from Santa Fe, NM westward to Los Angeles) but the association between Route 66 and the NOTR is such a strong one that the sign assembly in front of the Midpoint Cafe is a well-recognized US-66 landmark. (The other sign posted in Adrian, Texas is the 18" diamond-shaped National Old Trails Road Ocean to Ocean Highway marker, which is available in my other auctions.) An original of this style of guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars if it ever came to the market. This is a faithful remake to the correct size (24 x 18) manufactured on heavy steel with the correct layout, fonts and colors. It weighs about 11 pounds. This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection.
