Description: This listing is for a fantastic Handmade Abstract “Faces” Brutalist Metal Sculpture by the late Cleveland based artist Robert Palmer. It is Signed and dated on the bottom, dated 1982. This completely Handmade artwork measures roughly ~12” inches and is a one of a kind OOAK piece. The use of texture & color is just amazing, and it has a nice weight being solid metal. Each side looks a little bit like a different face, the two broadsides being most face-like. Overall a fantastic contemporary piece by a well respected artist who was loved by his community. His recent passing will only make his works harder to find & more valuable in coming years. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. From the Artists bio (available online): Hello, this is (The Other) Robert Palmer I always wanted to Paint Art (I even loved the smell of oil paint). My high school art teacher said, "with your talent you have great promise" and so the stage was set. After high school I served in Vietnam as a combat medic. I then worked for a Sculptor for Art School tuition but I fell in love working in metal, The rest is history! The next 20 years, I got married, built my Art Business, did jury Art Shows (Ann Arbor Art fair, Gold Coast in Chicago, ArtNewYork, las Olas, in Fla. to name a few). Developed Gallery connections, did Corporate and Private Commissions Internationally. After working For 40 years w/ injuries, surgeries, etc., the next years I sculpted in plastic, a much lighter duty. Then I went back to my first love, Fine Art Painting. I was a little 'rusty' but I had a Great response from my patrons, gallery owners, interior designers, etc. and with the advent of Digital Art media techniques I was like a kid in a candy store.
