A very rare species from Pitcairn Island - Fusinus galathea bountyi

Description: It is extremely difficult to get to Pitcairn Island, and then to get onto the Island. And then lucky to find one of the islanders who may have a few shells. If so, he would be one of the lobster fishermen who keep their catch in pens until a cruise ship comes along - and they sell them to the ship. Occasionally, crabbed shells get into the pens and are then kept. I was lucky enough when visiting to obtain a few shells. This is one, and another species is being offered during this period.
