Description: This is a significant piece of Chinese export porcelain from the mid to late 1800's - 1910, decorated with famille enamels. The stylized lingzhi shaped openings feature vibrant blooming peonies. The ground is a yellow diaper of scrolls, a classic decoration in Chinese export porcelains especially on vases and canisters. The dominant colors are yellow (jaune), rose, verte & a bit of bleau. This piece is uncommon in size, cylindrical, 18" tall and 8 " wide. It weighs 10 lbs. This item is being sold AS IS. There is a crack in the form of an irregular U.....The left line continues to show a hairline down to the blue peony. The 2 ends of the U can be noticed along the rim app 4" apart; the U is app 5 1/2 deep. Please examine the interior wall photos that show exactly how the crack looks like. The left side of the U continues as a tight hairline ending on the blue peony app 7" from the rim - not visible in the interior wall. There is a clean small hole at the center of the well. Maybe a cane or umbrella holder (?). This piece is structurally sound.
