Description: Porzellanfabrik Marktredwitz, Jaeger & Co. (Bavaria, Germany)Hand-Painted Porcelain PlatePeaches and Plums A beautifully hand-painted coupe-shape plate from "Porzellanfabrik Marktredwitz, Jaeger & Co." (mark used between 1898 to around 1923, in Bavaria, Germany; see the "porcelain marks and more" website for a full description). This pretty plate features richly painted fruit (peaches and plums), nuts, and green leaves, with a shaded green and purple background. It originally had a gold border around the rim, but the gold is extremely worn. There are no signs of the decorator's name or mark that I can see. This plate measures 8-1/8 inches wide across the rim. It is in good condition. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines, or crazing. But as mentioned the gold trim is almost gone, and there are a few scratches to the design (most visibly in the dark area on the right, see closeup photo, but also a little bit on one peach and on the leaves). The bottom is marked with a green flower mark for "J & C / Bavaria."
