WE ARE LOCATED AT 6910 LUTHER DRIVE STE I SACRAMENTO CA 95823 (916) 376 7412 ACCLIMATION PROCESS WHEN RECEIVING FISHFirst thing you should do is flip the bag over and see if you can see if your fish is moving, if it is not please photo and video to provide for the DOA policy. If the fish is still breathing please float the entire bag unopened into your tank for approximately 10-15 minutes (this will help with the fish not getting temperture shocked)After 10-15 minutes open the bag and release only your fish, you do not want to let any of the shipping water into your tank if possible as it may contain ammonia and waste that you would not want to add to your tank. If you have additional airpumps you can add additional oxygen as the fish would like it due to being in transit for awhile. Please do not add your Flowerhorn to a tank with other fish as it will stress it out. Please also be aware that shipping can and will take a toll on the fish, it may take a few hours to a few days to color back up to the original photo, this is nothing to be worried about. Please check below for some additional tips on Care. Thank you for your purchase. Flowerhorn Care Tank Size: We recommend fish to have at least a 40 breeder, we prefer this size over the 55 as the fish likes the width more than height. So any tank that is wider is preferred. Tank Décor: We don’t recommend any décor as the fish are fast and pretty destructive so they can injure themselves on the decorations. Gravel is ok as long as it is maintained and waste is cleaned often. Water Parameters: Tank temperature should be at 84-86F for ideal environment for Flowerhorn, they like it warmer so it entices appetite and also keeps illness away. Their PH should be 7.6-8.4. Diet: Flowerhorns do best on a staple pellet diet, we recommend Hikari products, our store fish get fed Hikari Saki for Show Koi, it contains high protein and probiotics to help digestion. Frozen Bloodworms can also be added a few times a week for a treat. Tankmates: Flowerhorn are aggressive and should be single fish in the tanks, unless they are divided. If put together the more dominant will fight until one dies. Sickness: The most common sickness with Flowerhorn is Hexamita (white poop disease), the treatment is Metronidazole. It can be put into the tank or mixed with food, if fish is still eating or administered through a syringe in the fish mouth. Other common sickness are Ich which can be treated with High heat and Aquarium Salt or at advance stages Medications as Rapid Ick Cure will take care of the problem. Maintenance: We Recommend weekly water changes at 30% , when adding new water please make sure temperature is matched and dechlorinator is added. Big Fluctuations tend to bring on illness, so we advise to have a reserve of water before doing a change.
