Description: This is believed to be a Swiss made antique Victorian brass and steel watchmaker's / clockmaker's mandrel lathe with ebony handles. Mounted on mixed hardwood base which appears to be mahogany and walnut. Purchase includes original housing box for the bigger of the two pieces - can be mounted inside box or kept on the mobile mount. Definitive identification will be left to the buyer. The lathe is in working condition and makes a commanding statement as a conversation piece. Similar lathes are found in museum collections. It measures approximately 15" long by 11" tall. Additional tools are mounted on a wooden base measuring 8" x 7" x 4 1/2" in size on wood (mahogany?) block measuring 9" x 4" in size.
