History James Bond was introduced to the world in the novels of Ian Fleming. The first novel was released in 1952, with the first feature film released in 1962. Nearly 70 years later, 27 feature films have been produced, with 25 from Eon Productions and two from outside production companies. Roger Moore and Sean Connery have portrayed James Bond the most, with each man playing the role seven times. Connery was Bond for the first five films, in six of the first seven, the only man to participate in Eon and non-Eon produced films, and the only actor to portray Bond in three different decades (the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s). Currently, Daniel Craig will portray Bond for the fifth consecutive time when No Time To Die releases.
